How to Commission the Allegion CTE Controller & Reader with Mosino Staff Hub

Overview

Mosino Staff Hub fully supports commissioning Allegion CTE controllers and RS-485 readers (MTB11, MTB15). This guide explains the simplest and most reliable way to commission a CTE and sync it with its reader.

Pre-requisites

Requirements

  • Valid Mosino Manager account.

  • Phone with: wifi and bluetooth enabled.

  • CTE controller and reader must be powered.

  • Reader serial number must be visible on the physical device.

1. Identify the Reader Serial Number

  • Login into to the Staff Hub app.

  • Tap your Profile icon in the bottom right corner.

  • Select Allegion Lock Management.

  • Look for the reader’s Serial Number (SN) in the list.

  • Compare it with the physical sticker on the reader.

  • Tap the matching SN → select Connect.

  • The reader should flash to confirm it matches

Tip: Copy the reader SN, you will need it during CTE commissioning. (Do not include leading zeros.)

2. Put the CTE Controller into Factory Default Mode (FDR)

To commission a CTE, it must be in Factory Default Mode.

  • Press and hold the FDR button for 5 seconds then release.

  • Press the Schlage button 3 times

*Successful FDR indicators:

  • CTE Status LED blinks green.

  • Reader LED blinks green.

  • Reader beeps once.

  • Mode LED shows Factory Default.

3. Commission the CTE Controller in Staff Hub

  • Go back to Allegion Lock Management.

  • Find the CTE Serial Number (matches the sticker on the controller).

  • Tap the serial number.

  • Select Commission.

  • Choose CTE as the device type.

Fill in the required fields:

  • Device Name - Use the unit number or door name (e.g., “Unit 304 – Main Door”).

  • Apartment Number - Type the unit → select the correct unit from the list.

  • Lock Master Group - Select Group Master.

  • Reader Serial Number - Paste the SN you copied earlier.

Tap Continue to complete commissioning.

5. Sync & Test the CTE with the RS-485 Reader

After commissioning, verify communication between the controller and reader.

  • Press and release the 'Schlage' button.

  • Immediately press the FDR button twice.

Successful sync indicators (MTB11 / MTB15):

  • Reader beeps 3 times.

  • Reader blinks amber 3 times.

This confirms:

  • Wiring is correct.

  • CTE and reader are communicating.

  • System is ready for programming and access control setup.
